a modern cape with big style!
This 1984 Cape Cod style home underwent a thoughtful transformation that brought big style and improved functionality to a modest footprint.
The original layout consisted of several small, compartmentalized rooms that limited both flow and usability. By opening up the space, we created a bright, inviting kitchen centered around a spacious island—perfect for everyday living, gathering, and entertaining. The renovation significantly increased storage, countertop workspace, and seating while maintaining the home's character. A carefully curated mix of cabinet finishes adds visual interest and depth, creating a cohesive design that feels both timeless and uniquely tailored to the home. The result is a kitchen that lives larger, functions better, and reflects the charm of the original Cape Cod architecture with a fresh, modern cottage perspective.

The existing sink was crammed into the corner and with the dishwasher it felt boxed in. Now with the sink in the island they can face the front window, guests and the t.v. while at the sink, and enjoy the beautiful view of the meadow while prepping food with the seven feet of counter space.

The décor reflects the homeowners' eclectic style, blending treasured antiques, travel-inspired etchings, Asian influences, and cherished family heirlooms. The result is a layered and highly personal space that tells their unique story.
