A Woman's Shelter Support Center & Offices, Western, MA
A beautiful old mill building is the perfect setting for this new, and well deserved, woman's shelter office and support center. The goal was to portray a professional look with a comforting feel and a touch of femininity. A project near and dear to my heart, I was able to get my vendors and installers to donate or discount their products and services to this amazing non-profit organization. My personal goal was to give the advocates a safe and serene support center and the dedicated employees an office they could be proud of.
The original wood floors were refinished revealing a beautiful warm patina. We kept the walls light and allowed natural light to fill the space where possible. Our take on the national domestic abuse color of purple, we used various shades of gray and raspberry in the woodwork, upholstery, workstations and artwork. Some fun, but sophisticated patterns were incorporated in the rug and wallcoverings.
